Hey Guys! It's GIG Spotlight again and I'm so thrilled to be co-hosting our GIG Movie Awards with the lovely Liss Cope fromLatinolook!
Each participant has to pick a movie of their choice and interpretate it the way that pleases them most.
Hopping to inspire you, I've chosen The Black Swan and came up with a couple of outfits.
To put the outfits together, I tried channelling the two sides the main character, Nina (so brilliantly played by Natalie Portman), reveals as the story goes on.
Nina was the beautiful swan queen of the Swan Lake ballet. A sweet, pure and fragile White Swan.
There's a constant inner struggle keeping her stiff and scared. At some point, that disordered mind of hers takes over and she becomes an alluring, strong and sensuous Black Swan.
Drenched in the confidence of insanity, Nina performs the dance of her lifetime with a perfection beyond human capacity. That night, she was both the white and the black swan. In the wings of emotion, she flew to her deepest desire: freedom.
The White Swan and The Black Swan
If you didn't see the movie, you should.
Well, as you might be thinking, I've styled my own White and Black swans. And, no, you won't be seeing ballet suits! I've just grabbed something from my closet and added them the drama the occasion required.
White Swan
The key to this outfit is is lightness.
White feathers and softly blushed cheeks. Textures of white. An angora sweater embroidered with little pearls. A faux-leather pailletes skirt. Glossy nude heels. A creamy faux-fur jacket that opens like spreading wings. All topped with a relaxed ballerina bun, pink feathers and a beautiful necklace. A jewel worthy of a swan queen.
Black Swan
And a mysterious darkness comes. It is twisted as it is alluring. A charming spell.
The make up gets heavier as the floating white wings turn to a black faux-fur running over sheer organza sleeves. An A-line skirt flies from a sequin belt, topping tall leather boots. A rare, exquisite, bird dances enigmatically. The swan queen necklace becomes a crown, a proof of the black swan's lust for absolute power.
Remember the post The Mascara Spell, featuring Natalie Portman for the latest Dior mascara? Well, inspired by those dramatic eyes and the kind of make up Natalie wears to red carpet events I came up with an easy and fierce look for you guys to try!

Não vou copiar nenhum destes looks! Só os pus aqui como referência ;)
I'm not copying any of these looks! Just using them as a reference ;)
Vamos começar?
Let's get started?
1. Ponto de Partida
1. Starting Point
I'll go from a previously prepared skin. As I'm focussing on the eyes, I've only put on my moisturizer, a light coverage foundation and a little blush.
Base / Foundation: Heathy Mix, Bourjois. Tom / Shade: 51 vanille clair
I'm using the sencond and third shades (from the left) to apply all over the lids. You may use any light eyeshadow, matte or slightly shimmering.
You can use your fingers or any broad andsoft brush. I really like using the foundation brush with eyeshadows. It's incredibly smooth!
Apply the darkest shade (or any taupe eyeshadow) through the socket bone and the lower lid.
4. Escurecer a linha de pestanas
4. Darken the lashline
Sombra / Eyeshadow: Eye Colors 254, Make Up Factory
Apply a dark brown, intensly pigmented, shadow in the upper lash line, drawing a V towards the socket.
5. Aquecer a cor
5. Warm the colour
Sombras / Eyeshadows: Sun Club, Essence, 02 long beach
With a smaller brush, apply warm and intense browns on the lower half oh the upper lid. This step will really bring out your eyes (works wonders with blue eyes, at leat ;) )!
6. Mais intensidade!
6. Intensify!
Go back to your dark brown eyeshadow and apply it in outter third of the upper lid, smudging through the socket and the lash lines.
7. Iluminar!
7. Lights on!
Apply a golden simmering shadow in inner cornner of the eye to drench it in light!
8. Contornar
8. Contour
Using any black eyelinner pencil, highlight both lash lines with a fick trace. This step is meant to bring out the eyes and enhance the volume effect the mascara gives.
9. Magia negra
9. Dark magic
That's right, I'm not using any Dior product, but I assure you this Kiko baby is dramatic enoug. Words of a biiig lashes junky!
When applying it, make sure you insist at the base of the lashes and then slide the brush in zig zag moves to the tips. A couple of mascara coats will make you forget false lashes exist ;)
This look is easily adjustable to any occasion. All colours are neutral, so all you need is adjusting the intensity to the effect you want to achieve. Don't be afraid of layering lots of shades! Sometimes, intuitive mixtures will give you the best results.
As it brings out the eyes so fiercely, this make up is awsome for all the girls who need glasses!
I love mascaras! Couldn't go to a desert island without one on my pocket!
They are the best trick to open your eyes in the morning and, some times, they have the power to change how your whole face is hit by light.

Natalie Portman
Fica prometido. Estejam atentas!
Besides being one of my favorite actresses, Natalie has a kind of beauty I particularly like. She's a classic beauty, balanced and graceful as a ballerina, that keeps a seductive amount of mystery.
If you look closely, you'll notice she usually wears low profile make ups, enhancing her hypnotizing eyes with loads of black mascara. The result is simple and 100% right.
So right I'm willing to recreate it for you step-by-step. Like the idea?
Dolce & Gabbana FW 12/13
I'm more and more addicted to headbands and hair accessories! They look so beautiful on every hair style and embelish any look with instant magic. And my hair keeps growing, so these adorable little things are beginning to fit it as a glove. ;)
At the moment, Kirsten Dunt's hair do in the picture above is my finish line! But, for the sake of honest truth, what I'm really, really coveting is her headband... Yes, it's one of those little porcelain and gold treasures Dolce & Gabbana came up with... Well, guess that's nothing a DIY can't fix soon!
As in everything, a handful headmasters' tips are always a gift!
