Olá sonhadores! Desculpem a minha ausência tão prolangada... O último mês foi uma loucura e só agora consegui ter algum tempo livre! Se seguem a página do blog no facebook sabem que estive super ocuper ocupada a preparar o meu primeiro desfile de moda, em parceria com a Sara Simões, uma amiga bem talentosa (sim, vou publicar um post gigante para vos mostrar tudo!). Depois disso, tive uma pausa bem merecida no Optimus Alive, um festival de música fantástico, no último fim de semana. Voltei renovada e cheia de vontade de partilhar toda a diversão com vocês! ;)

Hello dear dreamers! I'm sorry for being away for so long! My life went a bit crazy the last month and I'm finally managing to have some free time! In case you follow the blog Facebook page, you know I was super busy preparing my first fashion show with my talented friend Sara Simões (yes, there's a post comming up to show you everything!). After that I gave myself a break last weekend at Optimus Alive, a great music festival here in Portugal. I came back home fresh and new and I'll soon show you the whole fun! ;)

Há uns meses atrás tive a sorte de ser incluída no grupo de bloggers vencedores do concurso mundial Guess One to Watch, promovido pela Guess Watches. E, ontem ao final do dia, tive o enorme prazer de ver o meu primeiro post publicado no blog Guess Access! *.*

O post revela alguns truques que gosto de seguir, quando quero estar bem vestida e apresentada sem parecer que me esforcei muito para isso. No fundo, é uma das minhas interpretações do tão útil e desejado "chique sem esforço", que nunca passa de moda e nos faz cobiçar instantaneamente o estilo de quem o faz flutuar em frente dos nossos olhos.

A few months ago I was announced as one of the Guess One To Watch (a worldwide blogging contest promoted by Guess Watches) winner bloggers. Yesterday, by the end of the day, I was surprised with my first post published on Guess Access blog! *.*

The post tells some of the guidelines I follow when I want to look good and give the idea I didn't really thought to much about the outfit. Well, it actually is an interpretetion of min of the useful and so desireble "effortless chic". And I'm pretty sure you will all agree that effortlessness is that little magic that never goes out of fashion and takes the blame everytime we instantly covet someone's easy sophistication.

Estou mais do que atrasada nos posts da Paris Fashion Week, eu sei! Mas, antes de retomar, vou só falar-vos um pouco da minha passagem pela ModaLisboa Trust!

I'm so late with my Paris Fashion Week reports! But, for now, I'll tell you a bit about my days at Lisboa Fashion Week.

Nos dias 9 e 10 Março tive o prazer de assistir às propostas de alguns criadores portugueses para o Outono/Inverno 2013/14, passear em Lisboa, rever gente querida e lambuzar-me com os meus gelados favoritos!

Last weekend (9-10th March) I had the pleasure to watch some portuguese fashion designers' collections for Fall/Winter 13/14, enjoy Lisbon, meet dear people and indulge on my favorite icecreams!

E a primeira coisa a fazer num dia de desfiles é pensar no outfit! Faz parte da diversão! O clima estava temperamental e previam-se muitas filas e horas em pé... E eu joguei pelo seguro. Até mais do que queria.

The outift is always the first thing to think about when we are spending a day watching fashion shows. It's part of the fun! The weather was moody and the forecasts predicted lots of queues and standing hours... And I played safe. A bit safer than I wanted, though.

Um blazer de veludo preto de inspiração masculina com um toque delicioso.

Alguns toques de brilho para suavizar. Um lenço de seda esvoaçante, o "corta-vento" mais perfeito de sempre! Saltos de um dourado pálido. Um colar de inspiração barroca tornado delicado pelas tonalidades rosa pastel.

O primeiro desfile do dia foi o nosso favorito. Luís Buchinho inaugurou o segundo dia da ModaLisboa com a Revolução de Abril nas arcadas poente do Terreiro do Paço. Porque a revolução nasce e vive na rua.

The first show was our favorite of the day. Luís Buchinho opened Lisbon Fashion Week day 2 with a collection inspired by April 74 Revolution outside the runway. Because revolutions begin and live on the streets.

 Tudo foi forte, poderoso. Da música aos coordenados desfilados. 

Esteve lá o vermelho dos cravos e do sangue que não foi derramado. 

Esteve o preto da noite, dos segredos. E o burgundy da intensidade.

Também lá esteve o branco, de um amanhecer esperançoso.

Strength and power were all over the place. From the soundtracks to the showcased outfits.

There was a lot of red. Bright red. From the carnations and the blood noboby spilled.

There was the black that belonged to the night and the secrets. An intense burgundy was there as well.

At last but not the least, white came in bringing the hope of a new dawn.

 Adorei as silhuetas longilíneas e o equilíbrio ente fluido e estruturado conseguido por cortes de mestre e materiais perfeitos. Encantei-me com a forma como o vento daquela manhã lisboeta moldava as roupas aos corpos das modelos. Deslumbrei-me com a atitude das botas pela coxa e das mangas metidas dentro de luvas que ameaçavam trepar até ao ombro.

Um desfile incrível. Para recordar sempre.

I loved the long, tall silhouettes and the balance between fluid jerseys and other structured, thicker fabrics. The way the wind sculpted the clothes against the models bodies that morning was fascinating. And the attitude in the thigh high boots and gloves running over sleeves almost up to the elbow was dashing.

An icredible show. Never to forget.

GIG Spotlight: Battle of the Swans

Hey Guys! It's GIG Spotlight again and I'm so thrilled to be co-hosting our GIG Movie Awards with the lovely Liss Cope from Latinolook!

Each participant has to pick a movie of their choice and interpretate it the way that pleases them most.
Hopping to inspire you, I've chosen The Black Swan and came up with a couple of outfits.
 

 

To put the outfits together, I tried channelling the two sides the main character, Nina (so brilliantly played by Natalie Portman), reveals as the story goes on. 

Nina was the beautiful swan queen of the Swan Lake ballet. A sweet, pure and fragile White Swan.

There's a constant inner struggle keeping her stiff and scared. At some point, that disordered mind of hers takes over and she becomes an alluring, strong and sensuous Black Swan.

Drenched in the confidence of insanity, Nina performs the dance of her lifetime with a perfection beyond human capacity. That night, she was both the white and the black swan. In the wings of emotion, she flew to her deepest desire: freedom.

If you didn't see the movie, you should.

Well, as you might be thinking, I've styled my own White and Black swans. And, no, you won't be seeing ballet suits! I've just grabbed something from my closet and added them the drama the occasion required.


White Swan

 The key to this outfit is is lightness.

White feathers and softly blushed cheeks. Textures of white. An angora sweater embroidered with little pearls. A faux-leather pailletes skirt. Glossy nude heels. A creamy faux-fur jacket that opens like spreading wings. All topped with a relaxed ballerina bun, pink feathers and a beautiful necklace. A jewel worthy of a swan queen.

Black Swan

And a mysterious darkness comes. It is twisted as it is alluring. A charming spell.

The make up gets heavier as the floating white wings turn to a black faux-fur running over sheer organza sleeves. An A-line skirt flies from a sequin belt, topping tall leather boots. A rare, exquisite, bird dances enigmatically. The swan queen necklace becomes a crown, a proof of the black swan's lust for absolute power.

New Year, New Posts! ;)

O início do novo ano deu-me vontade para reformular um pouco os tipos/temas de posts aqui publicados. Mas nada de mudanças radicais! Digámos que já existe um esboço mental... No entanto, gostaria de saber que tipo de assuntos (mesmo os mais extravagantes e "disparatados") gostariam de ver abordados neste blogue! 

Chegou a vossa vez de me inspirarem!

Não vou dar-vos opções nem fazer questionários para não vos influenciar. Prometo que vou analisar todas as sugestões cuidadosamente e seleccionar as que mais depressa me deixarem com borboletas no estômago! Se tiver dúvidas entre algumas, aí sim, teremos uma votação ;)

The beginning of a new year lead me to a little change in typhes/themes of the posts I publish. Nothing too extreme, but I've already got a mental sketch. However, I'd love to know what kinds ob sujects ( even the most outrageous and "silly") you'd like me to write about!

Um dos mais óbvios e assombrosamente infalíveis clichés do "efeito surpresa" de outfit qualquer.

One of the most obvious, and yet unbelievably undefeatable, clichés of any outfit's "surprise effect".

Despidas...

Naked...

... Decoradas...

... Decorated...

... Ou até muito bem vestidas, as costas trazem sempre algo mais.

... Or even beautifully dressed, the back always brings something more.

Mas o que estará por detrás de tal magia?

What can be behind such magic?

O que as tornará tão apelativas?

What makes them so appealing?

Será o mistério? Por, num primeiro impacto, lançarem expectativas fascinantes sobre o rosto que escondem?

Can it be mystery? That same mystery that at a first glance blows kissing expectations about the face they cover?

Ou será aquela elegância, feita de uma sensualidade menos óbvia, que apenas um segundo olhar mais atento descobre?

Or is it that charm, built under the veil of a less obvious sensuality, only a second, careful look can figure out?

Duas verdades. Duas certezas.

Both are true. Both are certain.
