Ultimamente, muito por causa das personagens da realeza que tem encarnado, tem aparecido vestida como uma verdadeira princesa. Valentino, Chanel e Elie Saab são alguns favoritos. E sempre Alta-Costura. Quando se trata de se transformar numa princesa, esta jovem vai até ao fim e eu adoro!

A divertida e espontânea Keira é tão capaz de sair à rua no outfit mais casual de todo o sempre como de usar os looks festivos mais elegantes, como se fossem um prolongamento de si mesma. É um camaleão do estilo com traços faciais únicos que compõem na perfeição o ar de quem pertence à realeza de outros tempos.

Keira Knightley is one of those girls whose style suffered an astonishing evolution. She refined herself impeccably throughout the years and keeps delievering some of the very best red carpet moments. 

Lately, perhaps due to the royal roles she's been playing on the big screen, she's been walking the red carpets in princess worthy gowns. Valentino, Chanel and Elie Saab are some favorites. And it's all Haute Couture. When it comes to embodying a princess, this young woman goes all the way and love it!


The fun and spontaneous Keira is both capable of stepping out on the street on the most casual outfits and performing the most elegantly assembled cerimonial looks. She's a style chameleon of a unique facial features that blend just perfectly with those airs of royalty.

Quanto ao tipo de corpo, a Keira cai no grupo das magras e relativamente altas, o que não lhe trás dores de cabeça qunado quer ficar bem dentro do que quer que seja. Ainda assim, ela tem algumas particularidades que fazem com que fique mais favorecida com determinados tipos de vestido.

Ela é claramente uma rapariga de peito praticamente liso. Embora as ancas sejam um pouco mais largas, a sua cintura não é estreita ao ponto de lhe dar um contorno mais curvilíneo. E então como se pode fazer com que um corpo de busto muito reduzido e curvas pouco pronunciadas fique fantástico? Observem e aprendam! A Keira acerta sempre!

Pode parecer estranho, mas tirem o máximo partido desse busto pequenino! Eu defendo que os seios mais lisitos são os que ficam melhor com os decotes mais amplos e profundos. E porquê? É muito simples. Quanto mais pequenos os seios, maior a área de pele que se pode expôr sem se correr o risco de cair no muito pouco elegante extremo do super sexy que se torna vulgar. Podem despir o vosso peito um pouco mais sem descartarem a elegância (reparem no vestido Elie Saab da Keira no topo da página). Para além disso, um tronco estreito e linear pode ser um belo ponto de partida para um look bem mais curvilíneo. Optem por roupas bem justas acima da linha natural da cintura (ou um pouco acima dela) e deixem os volumes para a parte inferior. Uma cintura bem definida é a vossa melhor amiga para criarem a silhueta que quiserem!

In terms of body type, Keira falls on the thin and fairly tall group, which makes it easy for her to look great mostly on everything. Still, she's got some characteristics that make some dresses more flattering on her than others. 

She's clearly a flat chested girl and, although her hips are a bit wider, her waist line doesn't tuck in enough to give her pronounced curves. So, how can one make a body with a very small bust and little curves look fantastic? Well, watch and learn, girls! Keira gets it right everytime!

It may sound strange, but go ahead and take advantage of the small bust of yours! I do deffend that flat chests are the best for big plunging cleavages. Why? That's simple. The smaller the breasts are, the bigger the skin area you can expose without going on the super-sexy-meets-cheap-looks road. You can undress your chest more without putting the elegance aside (check her Elie Saab dress on top of the page). Besides, you can also make your small torso your door to a more curvy look. Just keep things tight above your natural waist line (or a bit higher than that) and let the skirt flare. A defined waist is your best friend to creat the shape want!

A estrela da campanha da carteira Lady Dior, Marion Cotillard, tem feito um belíssimo trabalho como embaixadora da Maison Dior na passadeira vermelha.

Há já algum tempo que Marion, uma francesa bem chique, tem sido uma das minhas favoritas na passadeira vermelha. Nunca peca por excesso nem por defeito. Às vezes arrisca. Quando se fica pelos clássicos, não aborrece. Sim, ela é mesmo uma daquelas francesas que parecem que acordam prontas para deslumbrar. E o melhor de tudo? Não é alta!

Para não correr o risco de parecer mais baixa, Marion prefere vestidos relativamente monocromáticos e mantém a cintura bem definida. Ultimamente, tem aparecido com modelos sem alças e decote horizontal que valorizam os seus ombros. Depois, brinca com os volumes e comprimentos das saias, demonstrando uma clara e acertada preferência pelas assimetrias (optimas para criar a ilusão de uma maior altura!). Termina sempre com sapatos bicudos q.b. e bem decotados, para crescer ainda mais!

In order to avoid looking shorter, Marion rocks mainly monochromatic dresses and keeps the waist in place. Latelly, she's been sporting strapeless gowns with a shoulder flattering horizontal cleavage. From there, she plays with the volumes and legths of her skirts, showing a clear and accurate love for assymetries (a great trick to look taller!). In the end, she steps up ponty stilettos to gain a few more centimetres!

Jennifer Lawrence é umas das minhas últimas prediletas da passadeira vermelha. Fresca e jovem, a atriz é o mais recente rosto da campanha da carteira Miss Dior e uma outra musa de Raf Simons.

A Jen podia ser mais uma rapariga da porta ao lado, mas é bem mais requintada do que isso. Alta, dona de uma beleza clássica, de um físico invejável e de uma personalidade genuinamente encantadora, está prestes a iniciar uma nova geração de estrelas de cinema.  Longe dos folhos cansativos e dos mais do que vistos vestidos totalmente transparentes bordados da cabeça aos pés, ela transmite a elegância das divas de outrora de uma forma extremamente moderna. Claro que as criações de Raf Simons para a Dior ajudam e muito. De qualquer forma, o mais interessante de tudo isto, é que tais vestidos parecem ter sido desenhados a pensar nela.

Jen could be another girl next door. But she is more exquisite than that. Tall, owner of classic beauty and a killer body and genuinelly charming in person, she's about to start a new age of movie stars. Away from exhausting ruffles and far more than seen head to toe embroidered sheer gowns, she channels the elegance of the great divas in a very modern way. Of course wearing Raf Simon's dresses for Dior helps a lot. But, what makes it all so special is the way the dresses look like they were designed just for her.

Finalmente chegou o grande momento! O dia de experiementar um vestido fabuloso!

O vestido longo, feito de materiais nobres e adornado com detalhes muito especiais, é, geralmente, o indicado para jantares e bailes de gala, passadeiras vermelhas, casamentos depois das 17h e outros eventos cuja formalidade ou dress code o recomendem.

Uma vez mais, um smoking ultra elegante, um jumpsuit fabuloso ou umas calças longas, largas e sedosas, são óptimas alternativas ao vestido tradicional.

A long dress of noble fabrics and embelished with super special details is, pretty often, the right thing to wear to gala dinners and balls, red carpets, evenning weddings and other events the fomalities and dress code require you to.

Again, an elegant smoking, a fabulous jumpsuit or long wide silky trousers, are beautiful alternatives to the traditional dress.

Quando somos baixinhas e queremos um vestido longo, há alguns pormenores que devemos ter em atenção.

E, obviamente, usar saltos altos sempre que possível. Vão facilitar-nos muito a vida.

When we're not blessed with an incredible height and need a long dress, there are some details we must pay attention to. We should also wear high heels unless it's impossible. They'll make it super easier for us.

Let's look at some good examples of outfits you can wear?

Um vestido coluna é óptimo para alongar silhuetas. E, como podem ver, não tem de ser escuro ou competamente direito!

Alguns pequenos volumes que não ultrapassem muito a metade superior do vestido estilizam a silhueta, tornando-a mais interessante.

Truque: Usem saltos bem altos e garantam que a bainha do vestido toca o chão.Já podem dizer olá a umas pernas incrivelmente longas ;)

A column dress is great to lengthen the silhouette. As you can see, it doesn't really need to be dark or strictly straight!

Some little volumes that don't lower the top half too much can define the figure and make it much more interesting.

Tip: Wear sky high heels and make sure the hemline touches the floor. Say hello to super long legs ;)

Os vestidos de sereia - justos até aos joelhos com bastante mais volume a partir daí - nem sempre são muito indicados para as mais baixinhas. Ao colocarem os maiores volumes na zona mais inferior, encurtam visualmente a silhueta.

Mas há formas de contornar o problema! 

Façam como Amanda Seyfred e optem por um vestido justo, cuja saia vai abrindo discretamente até ao chão. Conseguem o desejado efeito sereia sem perderem um milímetro de altura.

Truque: Copiem a gola subida e estreita da actriz para conseguirem acrescentar altura ao tronco. Motivos com tensão vertical tambem ajudam a guiar o olhar nessa direcção.

Mermaid gowns (tight till the knee line and voluminous bellow) may not be the best for petite women. As they're heavier on the bottom, they might shorten the figure.

But there are ways to turn it around! Do it like Amanda Seyfred and pick a close to the body dress with a skirt that flares softly. You will achieve the desired mermaid effect without loosing an inch.

Tip: Copy her halter neck for a taller torso. Vertically tensioned motifs can also guide the eyes in that direction.

Como que por magia, os decotes em V fazem-nos parecer mais altas. Alongam o pesoço e trazem as atenções para cima, exactamente como queremos. Resultam maravilhosamente em jumpsuits e com apanhados que deixem algum volume no topo da cabeça.

Truque:  Defininam uma linha de cintura ligeiramente a cima da linha natural e deixem que o decote termine muito próximo dela. O tronco deve ser justo e a parte inferior (saia ou calça) não deve ser muito volumosa. Com um decote destes, "menos é mais"!

Nota: Este tipo de decotes favorece peitos mais planos. Num busto mais volumoso o alongamento perde-se e corre-se o risco de ficar com um apecto vulgar.

It's a magic trick. Plunging necklines make us look taller. They strecth the neck and bring attentions upwards, right where we want them. They are wonderful in jumpsuits and ask for up-do's with a bit of volume on top of the head.

Tip: Define your waist slightly above the natural line and let the cleavage end pretty close. The torso must be tight and the bottoms should carry little volume. With a plunge like this, "less is more"!

Note: This kind of cleavage flatters the flat chested ladies. A bigger bust loses the lengthening effect and can easily look cheap.

Mas é claro que uma rapariga pouco alta pode usar saias volumosas de princesa!

Basta manter o tronco bem justo, a cintura bem marcada, usar saltos altos e um penteado que acrescente centímetros.

Truque: Preferir vestidos de uma só cor e com detalhes que criem linhas verticais ou oblíquas capazes de dirigir o olhar de baixo para cima.

All it takes is keeping the bust tight, the waist in place, wearing heels and a hairstyle that can make you taller.

Tip: Go for dresses of one colour and embelished with details capable of creating vertical or diagonal lines that draw attentions upwards.

Saturday Night Chic: Elegance at Cannes

Depois da extravagância do MET Ball, eis que chega a elegância irrepreensível da passadeira vermelha do Festival de Cinema de Cannes. A suavidade primaveril refrescou a Riviera francesa com o charme de vestidos de gala esvoaçantes, bem mais delicados que os vistos nos Óscares deste ano.

Enquanto que algumas estrelas do cinema, da música e da moda optaram pela segurança de modelos clássicos e simples, abrilhantados por jóias de fazer inveja, outras mostraram-se atentas às últimas tendências ao desfilarem, vaporosas, com seus longos vestidos de ninfa em tons pastel.

Once the MET Ball extravaganza is gone and by, Cannes Film Festival takes over and demands flawless elegance on the red carpet. This year, the softness of spring graced the French Riviera with the charm of long floaty gowns, a lot more delicate than the ones spotted at the Oscars.

While some movie, music and fashion stars went down the safety road with simple classic dresses, embellished by jewels to-die-for, others revealed themselves as trend followers by strutting their stuff in vaporous nymph gowns in pastel shades.
