Já vos disse que o Festival de Cinema de Cannes é o meu favorito no que diz respeito a glamour e elegância na passadeira vermelha? Se já, fica reforçada a ideia! ;)
E que tem Cannes de tão especial? Vejámos. Realiza-se em plena primavera, no sul de França, bem juntinho ao Mediterrâneo. Por si só, estas condições geografico-climatéricas reclamam roupas mais frescas e leves. E as estrelas, regra geral, obedecem. Como que por magia, as princesas prontas para o baile dos Óscares, transformam-se eu deusas exuberantes ou em mulheres fatais mestres do effortless chic. Deve ressalvar-se ainda que a essência do chique francês - absolutamente fabuloso e impecavelmente relaxado - paira por todo o lado, inebriando tudo e todos. Por último, mas não menos importante, há aquela brisa da riviera francesa, a evocar a frescura doce do resort chic e o allure das décadas mais gloriosas do cinema. Quem resite a tamanha inspiração?

Have I told you Cannes Film Festival is my favorite in terms of glamour and red carpet elegance? If so, I'm just making the statement stronger. ;)
But what's so special about Cannes? Let's see. The festival takes place in spring time, in the south of France, pretty close to the Mediterranean. This geography and climate alone demand fresher and lighter clothes. Generally, the stars obbey. In a pass of magic, the slightly stiff princesses ready to the ball we see at the Oscars turn to exhuberant goddesses and femme fatales who master the art of effortless chic. Besides, we must notice the essence of the absolutely fabulous and impeccably relaxed french chic in the air, enchanting everyone who senses it. Last but not the least, there's that french riviera breeze evoking the sweet freshness of resort chic and the allure of the most glorious decades of cinema. Who resists such inspiration?

Há já algum tempo que Marion, uma francesa bem chique, tem sido uma das minhas favoritas na passadeira vermelha. Nunca peca por excesso nem por defeito. Às vezes arrisca. Quando se fica pelos clássicos, não aborrece. Sim, ela é mesmo uma daquelas francesas que parecem que acordam prontas para deslumbrar. E o melhor de tudo? Não é alta!

This super chic french girl has been one of favorites on the red carpet. She's never excessive or too plain. Sometimes she takes risks. When she opts for the classics, she manages not to look boring at all.The best? She's not that tall!

Para não correr o risco de parecer mais baixa, Marion prefere vestidos relativamente monocromáticos e mantém a cintura bem definida. Ultimamente, tem aparecido com modelos sem alças e decote horizontal que valorizam os seus ombros. Depois, brinca com os volumes e comprimentos das saias, demonstrando uma clara e acertada preferência pelas assimetrias (optimas para criar a ilusão de uma maior altura!). Termina sempre com sapatos bicudos q.b. e bem decotados, para crescer ainda mais!

In order to avoid looking shorter, Marion rocks mainly monochromatic dresses and keeps the waist in place. Latelly, she's been sporting strapeless gowns with a shoulder flattering horizontal cleavage. From there, she plays with the volumes and legths of her skirts, showing a clear and accurate love for assymetries (a great trick to look taller!). In the end, she steps up ponty stilettos to gain a few more centimetres!

Jennifer Lawrence é umas das minhas últimas prediletas da passadeira vermelha. Fresca e jovem, a atriz é o mais recente rosto da campanha da carteira Miss Dior e uma outra musa de Raf Simons.

A Jen podia ser mais uma rapariga da porta ao lado, mas é bem mais requintada do que isso. Alta, dona de uma beleza clássica, de um físico invejável e de uma personalidade genuinamente encantadora, está prestes a iniciar uma nova geração de estrelas de cinema.  Longe dos folhos cansativos e dos mais do que vistos vestidos totalmente transparentes bordados da cabeça aos pés, ela transmite a elegância das divas de outrora de uma forma extremamente moderna. Claro que as criações de Raf Simons para a Dior ajudam e muito. De qualquer forma, o mais interessante de tudo isto, é que tais vestidos parecem ter sido desenhados a pensar nela.

Jennifer Lawrence is one of my latest red carpet crushes. Young and fresh, the actress is the beustiful star of Miss Dior bag campaign and another great muse of Raf's.

Jen could be another girl next door. But she is more exquisite than that. Tall, owner of classic beauty and a killer body and genuinelly charming in person, she's about to start a new age of movie stars. Away from exhausting ruffles and far more than seen head to toe embroidered sheer gowns, she channels the elegance of the great divas in a very modern way. Of course wearing Raf Simon's dresses for Dior helps a lot. But, what makes it all so special is the way the dresses look like they were designed just for her.

Alta e com tudo no devido lugar, a Jennifer só tem de tirar partido das suas belíssimas curvas! Mas como? Com belos vestidos que lhe delineiam a silhueta e experimentando várias amplitudes de saias. A noite passada trouxe-nos vislumbres de passadeira vermelha memoráveis (nem todos pelas melhores razões) e momentos emociantes durante a cerimónia de entrega de prémios. Quando o elenco de Les Miserables - que para pena minha perdeu o Óscar de melhor filme para Argo - subiu ao palco para uma última atuação em conjunto, o meu coração ficou pequenino...

Last night brought us memorable red carpet flashes (not all for the best reasons) and emotional moments through the 85th Academy Awards cerimony. When Les Miserables cast - that, aginst my will, lost Best Picutre Oscar for Argo - appeared on the stage performing together one last time my heart wouldn't stop shrinking...

Mas hoje vamos tratar de assuntos mais leves. Vou simplesmente galardoar duas meninas com o Óscar de Melhor "Guarda-Roupa"! Algumas delas demonstram bem como vestir o seu tipo de corpo. Por essa razão, logo que tenha um tempinho, vou publicar uma espécie de tutorial inspirado nos melhores momentos de passadeira vermelha desta Awards Season. Se por acaso tiverem algum baile, casamento ou ocasião mais formal na agenda, podem cá vir buscar umas dicas e inspirações!

But today's business is a bit lighter. I'm here just to award a couple of ladies with a Best Dressed Oscar!

Some of them actually embody great tips when it comes to dress accordingly to your figure. Linda e graciosa (até quando tropeçou!)! O vestido Dior Haute Couture SS 2013 esculpia-lhe o corpo na perfeição e o colar que caía delicadamente pelas costas pareceu-me um toque de mestre! Uma verdadeira princesa, com um look a lembrar vagamente a eterna Grace Kelly. 

100% beauty and grace (even when she stumbled!)! The Dior Haute Couture gown sculpted her body with taylor-made perfection. The delicate back necklace was a master touch to me. A true princess, vaguelly looking like the eternal Grace Kelly.

Anne Hathaway in Prada and Tiffany's jewels.

 "Negócios na frente e diversão nas costas", foi como a atriz descreveu o seu look de passadeira vermelha.

Anne estava adorável. Simples e elegante, o vestido coluna da Prada enalteceu a sua figura alta e esguia e a cor deixou que o seu rosto e penteado brilhassem. O pixie cut fica-lhe tão bem!

Se Jennifer foi a reincarnação de Grace Kelly, Anne, com o vestido que escolheu, as jóias Tiffany e o seu cabelo curtinho, foi a Audrey Hepburn da noite.

"Business on the front, party on the back!", said the actress when asked about her dress. 

Anne looked adorable. Simple and elegant, the Prada column dress flattered her tall and slim figure. The pale pink colour put her lovely face and hair cut under the spotlight. That pixie cut looks so cute on her!

If Jennifer was the Grace Kelly of the night, Anne's dress, Tiffany's jewels and short hair gave her a marvelous Audrey Hepburn moment.

 Para a festa da Vanity Fair, Anne manteve a silhueta, trocou as jóias por lantejoulas no decote e o rosa pélido pelo azul céu.

For the Vanity Fair party, Anne kept the column silhouette, traded the necklace for sequins and pale pink for light blue.
