O clássico casaco Chanel em versão espartilho. Cheio de nervuras e costuras, bem cintado e plano no busto, aboata-se à frente com as jóias da coroa.

The classic Chanel jacket was reinterpreted in the shapes of corsetery. Structured in rigid looking seams, tight at the waist and flat on the chest, it's buttoned down with crown jewels on the front.

 Camadas de tiras envolventes, definidas por escadas cor de pérola ou franzidos vaporosos, desdobraram a magia que se vivia no bosque do Grand Palais.

Layers of enveloping fabrics, defined by pearly staircases and tranparencies puckered in a vaporous fashion, unfolded the magic at Grand Palais.

 E, entre plumagens sem peso e brilhos de pérola, algures naquele lugar estranho onde as traduções se perdem, debrochava nas mulheres da passerelle uma alma de pássaro... De pássaro livre e sem rumo, doce e atormentado. Pássaros da lua, que ocultam a face obscura com brilhos de prata.

And finally the bird women were invading the catwalk, lost in tranlation, dressed in pearled watery mirrors and weightless feathers... They had the sweet troubled souls of free errant birds. Birds from the moon, always shading theis darkest side with silvery shimmers.

 Num momento pássaros da lua, no outro flores de um jardim de ébanao.

In a blink of an eye, those moon bird turned to flowers from an ebony garden.

 Depois da metamorfose, o protagonismo vai para os volumes expansivos e cheios de movimentos arredondados.

After the metamorphosis, some fabulously expansive and rounded volumes take over the scene.

 Volumes negros e cravejados de flores preciosas. Estrelas de purpurina sobre noites de organza.

Black volumes embroidered with precious flowers. Glitter stars over sheer layers of night.

Sem esquecer as inpirações mais poéticas, há detalhes formais que também merecem destaque.
But, besides all this boetry there are a few interesting formal details that have earned their spot.

Começo pelas mangas. Luvas de ópera estendidas para o infinito ou bainhas de espadas? Arquitecturas do futuro ou cálices de flor?

Let's begin with sleeves. Opera gloves pointing towards the sky or swords' sheats? Future architecture or flower cups?

As pequenas capas sobre os ombros, mais ou menos evidentes, foram outra característica bem presente.

Have you noticed the boots? Karl Largerld can't do without thigh high boots that cover the legs in surprising materials. Aren't they dreamy?

Há poucas horas atrás, Karl Lagerfeld deliciou uma plateia exclusiva, sentada no que pareciam ser mesas de cafés parisienses, com os agasalhos mais doces e aconchegantes, todos completados por uma carteira a condizer. Entre cinzas e rosas pálidos, aqui e ali intensificados por pretos e azuis-céu, sessenta e seis outfits saídos dos sonhos do engenhoso criador da Chanel desfilaram em direcção aos sonhos de um sem número de mulheres. 

Earlier today, Karl Lagerfeld delighted an exclusive audience, set in parisian caffé tables, with the sweetest and coziest coats alongsid lovely matching bags. From grey hues to pale pinks, intensifyed by blacks and sky blues here and there, sixty six outfits catwalked from Karl's dreams to the dreams of many many women.

Depois de observar com calma todos os tecidos que, exalando suavidade ao primeiro olhar, foram moldados em silhuetas clássicas e decididamente retro, não pude deixar de pensar que a moda parece estar a voltar atrás no tempo de uma forma bastante literal. Como se a parafernália de estilos e maneiras de vestir, tal como a informação que nos bombardeia por todos os lados, estivesse a precisar de ser repensada, reorganizada, reestruturada, as passerelles têm vindo a revisitar e a reavivar o glamour perdido de décadas passadas. 

A emancipação, a entrada maciça num mundo laboral dominado por homens e o desejo de conforto, funcionalidade e afirmação levou a uma perda alarmante da feminilidade que fazia das mulheres ícones de elegância e requinte. Hoje em dia, muitas mulheres podem já retomar esses antigos códigos de beleza em vários aspectos da sua vida pessoal e profissional sem abdicarem do poder e dos direitos que têm vindo a conseguir. Pondo ao seu alcance roupas lindíssimas, usáveis e muito femininas, os designers estão a dizer às mulheres de hoje que, ao invés de ocultarem o seu lado mais suave, devem valorizar força bruta de contornos refinados que faz delas seres tão inigualáveis quanto imparáveis.

After carefully observing all of the soft fabrics that made up classic and definitely retro silhouettes, I couldn't help thinking fashion seems to be going back in time in a quite literal way. As if the multiplicity of styles and information that hits us today would need to be rethought, reorganized and restructured, catwalks have been revisiting and reviving the lost glamour from the past.

Emancipation, the massive entrance in a labour world ruled by men and the desire of comfort and affirmation lead to an alarming loss of the femininity that used to turn women into icons of elegance and exquisitness. Nowadays, a lot of women are claiming those old school beauty codes back, both to their personal and professional lives, without giving away their inner power suit. By putting adorable, wearable and really feminine clothes at their fingertips, fashion designers are telling the ladies to, instead of  hiding their soft side, emphasize the raw strenght of refined contours that makes them the unique and unstoppable human beings they are.

Depois de calças largas, saias longas e fatos Chanel aptos para um dia-a-dia cheio de allure, Karl galanteou-nos com vestidos de noite feitos de etéreas brisas de sonho. 

Já eu termino por dizer que estou absolutamente feliz por esta aparente mudança dos códigos de vestuário. Sempre fui apaixonada pela beleza impecável da moda de um século XX perdido no tempo e, por isso, só de imaginar que voltar a ver mulheres assim vestidas não será uma realidade assim tão distante já fico com os olhos a brilhar de entusiasmo!

Following wide trousers, long skirts and Chanel suits fit for an alluring daily routine, Karl wooed us with evening gowns made of ethereal breezes from dreams.

And I finish my speech sharing I couldn't be happier with this seeming shift in clothing codes. I've always been in love with the lost in time impecable beauty of the fashions from the 20th century. That's why feeling women may be dressing like that again ain't that unrealistic makes my eyes sparkle of excitment!
