Salamanca
Posso dizer que a viagem terminou com chave de ouro. Depois de bairros mouros, Gran Vías sem fim, cidades do futuro, encontros com o passado, obras geniais, agitação urbana (e turística!) e muitos quilómetros de estrada, Salamanca, a Ciuad Dorada, surgiu tal e qual um pequeno oasis de calma, história e beleza intemporal.
I can tell this trip ended at a golden finish line. After Arab neighbourhoods, endless Gran Vías, cities from the future, meetings with the past, genial works of art and architecture, urban (and touristic!) agitation and many, many kilometres on the road, Salamanca, la Ciudad Dorada, was waiting like a small oasis of calm, history and timeless beauty.

Salamanca é, sem sombra de dúvida, óptimo local para relaxar durante alguns dias. Sabe bem lá estar. E há muito para fazer!
Salamanca is definitely a perfect place to relax for a few days. It feels good being there. And there's plenty to do!

1- Palmilhar todas as ruas da cidade antiga.
2- Jantar na Plaza Mayor. É lá que se encontram alguns dos restaurantes mais típicos e refinados da cidade.
3- Visitar todas as catedrais, igrejas e conventos. Têm uma beleza arrebatadora.
4- Atravessar a Ponte Romana que une a parte antiga à parte moderna de Salamanca.
5- Desfrutar do espírito despreocupado e alegre, de dia e de noite.

1- Walk all the old town's streets.
2- Dinner at Plaza Mayor. There you can find some of the most typical and exquisite restaurants in town.
3- Visit all cathedrals, churches and monasteries. Their beauty can be overwhelming.
4- Cross the Roman Bridge that connects old town and modern town.
5- Enjoy the carefree and joyful spirit, day and night.
6- Visit the University.

A razão pela qual deixei o Museo Casa Lis para último lugar prende-se com a minha adoração pelo seu espólio. Mais do que isso, tem a ver com a minha inclinação natural e "obsessão" desmesurada pelos movimentos artísticos que representa. As colecções expostas são realmente bonitas e a casa, em si, cheia de vitrais e varandas de ferro, exala o charme de uma época dourada e efusiva perdida num passado recente. Ainda assim, a sua aura perdura.
Apesar de relativamente pequeno, é, de entre os museus que já pude visitar, uns dos meus favoritos! Paragem obrigatória.
The reason why I left Museo Casa Lis for last has to due with my love for what it holds inside. More then that, it has to due with my natural inclination and enormus "obssession" for the artistic movements it represents. The coolection on exhibition are really pretty and the house itself, essentially made of stained glass winfows and iron balconies, exhales the charm of a golden eralost in a recent social past.
Still, it's aura lingers.
Despite being relatively small, it's one of the most pleasant museums I had the opportunity to visit! Mandatory!
